We went to Atlanta this year for Thanksgiving with the Semanson fam. It was a trip that I was really looking forward to seeing that my brothers and Gram had yet to meet Ann Bennett. It is always a precious sight to see the ones you love most love on your babies. AB and Brooks are so blessed to have such sweet cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents, and great-grandparents.
Thursday morning, John ran in the 5th Annual Sugarloaf Country Club Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot (5K). He placed 2nd out of 400 plus registered runners and walkers. Mom, Brooks, and I met him at the finish line and were/are so very proud of him! Way to go, Daddy! We celebrated with a big breakfast, mimosas, and the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
After naps we headed to Jeff and Katye's house for dinner. This year, Jeff was in charge of the turkey(s) and instead of traditionally baking it, he smoked one on the Big Green Egg and fried another. They were both DELISH!

Bad quality and blurry picture, but a must-post because it is my heart! Four generations. |
John and I went on a much needed date Friday night to see the new Hunger Games: Mockingjay movie. It was a nice break, but we sure did miss putting our babies down!
We headed back to Birmingham Saturday morning and, as always, it was hard to say goodbye. It's a good thing we get to see Nanie and Pop Pop in just one short week for Brooks' birthday party!
Can you believe my boy is about to be two?!
