Our sweet Brooks turned two on Saturday! We celebrated him along with family and friends with a camping themed birthday party. It was a tad bit windy and a whole lot chilly, but the afternoon, in my opinion, could not have been more perfect.
My friend Katie Beth designed the invitations. She incorporated the colors from the quilt on John's bed at his parents house that served as my inspiration, a teepee, versus tent, since we already owned one, and trees from the outfit that I had set out for Brooks to wear. I think that it turned out so cute!
Here are a lot of pictures from Brooks' special day:
(Poor buddy wanted to be partaking in the festivities instead of posing for the camera)
The s'more station was a huge hit with both the bigs and smalls.
…Brooks, especially (eyeing his cake).
The main table (that John's great grandfather built) housed chili with all the fixin's, Ants on a Log (made with almond butter and peanut butter), oranges, and hot apple cider.
I think that the highlight of the party, for Brooks, was singing "Happy Birthday" and blowing out his candle.
Because it's December, I didn't want our guests to feel like they had to be huddled around the fire trying to keep warm the entire duration of the party, so I set up a trail mix bar inside where it was nice and toasty.
We didn't want our little guests to go home empty-handed, so their take-away was a mini flashlight!
We are so thankful for everyone who gave up their Saturday afternoon and braved the cold to celebrate our Brooks. He is one loved little boy.
Happy 2nd Birthday, John Brooks! You are my heart.
such a cute idea!
