first eats.

I totally forgot to post pictures from Ann Bennett's first go with solids. We gave her rice cereal on January 28th and it wasn't a complete disaster. Fist bump. She wasn't really a fan and pushed out every single bite with her tongue, which called for a lot of wet paper towels. Big brother fed her a few bites too! He was so proud. And we were proud of him! Without further ado…

five months: ann bennett.

This past month was a busy month for our family crammed with the madness of the Christmas season, travel, hunting (wahhh), babies being born, and ringing in the New Year. Time slipped through our fingers and now our Ann Bennett is five months old. I cannot believe it.

Some dates to remember, that I actually wrote down:

On December 26th, while in Atlanta, Ann Bennett started rolling from back to belly to back again like whoa. There was/is no stopping her now. She is a quick little ninja, whipping on to her tummy before you can blink an eye. This is her means of travel these days. We don't have a scooter quite yet, but if you place her on the playmat and leave the room for a minute, you will come back to find her in the middle of the room, 3 feet from where she started. So, with that being said, tummy time is more enjoyable and she is pushing up without the help from her elbows.

A few days later, on the 29th, we officially transitioned her to the bathtub. She isn't sitting up yet, so we lay the Puj down and bathe her on that, just like we did with big brother. She loves tubby time and is even sweet when we get her out and dry her off…basically she is sweet 95% of the day. 94% on a bad day.

To be honest, the only time that she fusses or cries is when she is hungry or overly tired. Annie B still loves to eat and it shows. Her cheeks keep getting bigger and bigger and I. am. loving it. I had to take her to the doctor on Wednesday (more on that below) and she weighed 16 pounds, 12 ounces. Yeah, baby! When she is super hungry she will angry cry. Once she sees the bottle she will start kicking her legs and reach for it. Sis don't play.

However, her intake decreased a bit towards the end of the month. This could be due to being sick (again, see below), but looking back, Brooks did the same thing. She now takes 5-6 ounces bottles during the day and 7-8 at night. I am still nursing her first thing in the morning, but supplement with a bottle afterwards.

AB still isn't sleeping throughout the night without some assistance from mom or dad. She typically wakes around 4:00 wanting her paci, sometimes in the early 1:00ish hour too. She goes to bed around 7:00 and wakes around 6:00/6:30. She is still taking three naps: one at 9:00 a.m. 12:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. (maybe). I am not really sure why we have two babies that don't sleep well. They definitely take after their daddy in that manner. Mommy, not so much. Give me sleep!

While we are on the topic of sleep, we have been robbed of it for five days now. On the 12th, Ann Bennett came down with her first cold and was diagnosed with RSV Bronchiolitis on Wednesday. She is so sick and helpless. It is breaking our hearts. The doctor said that it is going to get worse before it gets better and that the cough can stick around for 3-4 weeks. We are believing for healing in her little body!

On January 13th, baby girl discovered her feet! She hasn't figured out how to get them into her mouth yet, but she sure tries!

Some other random month fivers:

She says "hey" and "hi" (unintentionally, clearly).

She still hasn't given us a full-blown laugh, just little cackles. When we tickle her she holds her breath and tries so hard to keep it in—just let it out, baby girl! I think that on the day she actually giggles I may do a cartwheel. My days of backflips are over.

She loves to stand up, versus lying down or sitting. I think that it's time to bust out the exersaucer.

She lights up when she sees her daddy and is quite infatuated with older men. I took Brooks to the barber shop for a haircut and she stared at the man sitting next to us the entire. time.

She really loves her big brother, too.

AB Baby, we sure are enjoying you and your blooming sweet personality. It's hard to believe that in one month you will be half a year old. So, for now, we will savor these baby days…and continue to try to make you laugh.

XXOO.

Her legs. I want to eat them.

That nose. I want to Eskimo kiss it.
