He starts kindergarten in three weeks. Where does the time go?!

I'll just be over here swimming in an ocean of tears.

papa is 90.

On Saturday, we celebrated a big milestone—Papa's 90th birthday (and Hannah's 25th birthday)! It was such a special afternoon spent with family…all 21 of us! Papa surely felt loved, as we reflected on how grateful we are for his sweet life. He is such a blessing to all of us.

We love you so much, Papa!

lemonade and oreos.

Of course I have to document Brooks and Ann Bennett's first lemonade stand! It was all their idea, and with a little help from mom and dad this afternoon, they got everything set up in the back alley behind our house, put on their charm, and began selling away!

These two entreprenuers made a whopping $50.00 in about an hour and had so much fun doing it (except when a car would pass them by). I am so proud of them!

kindergarten playdate.

Wednesday, July 18, 2018

This morning, Brooks and I went to Vulcan for a Kindergarten playdate. Shug was kind enough to watch Ann Bennett and Camp so that me and my buddy could have some one-on-one time before he starts Kindergarten this fall. He had so much fun with his future classmates!

We love Covenant Day School so much and are thankful for days like this that help get him excited about another school year!

serve day 2018.

Sunday, July 15, 2018

Yesterday was Serve Day 2018. It's a day to love God, love people, and SERVE! There were projects all over the state and John, Brooks, and Pops got to be a part of one, where they helped build a wall and steps on a piece of neglected property for a nonprofit organization.

It's safe to say Brooks dug and served his little heart out. I am one proud mama! I'm so thankful that our church teaches us the importance of showing the love of Jesus to our city in a practical way and encourages us to teach this principal to our children at a young age. Hopefully next year our entire family can serve together!

shoes.

Thursday, July 12, 2018

I dug through Brooks' bin of clothes and shoes today and found these sandals and two pairs of keds for baby Camp. Now that he is on the move I figured it was about time!

Oh my goodness, he looooves them. Little buddy sat his bottom on the step and lifted his legs for me to put them on.  I about died of cuteness overload.

Can you even handle him?!

summer blast.

Wednesday, July 11, 2018

This was Brooks' first year to attend Summer Blast at our church and it was truly "Outta this world!" He experienced God's presence this week and learned God is here in His Word, that God is here when we pray, and that God is here when we worship.

We are so thankful for all of the people who served and poured into his heart. And he is especially thankful for the yummy snacks...

july fourth at the lake.

Monday, July 9, 2018

There's nothing quite like a 4th of July on Lake Oconee, that's for sure. With a two-day turnaround, we unloaded, washed and repacked for a week at Nannie and Pop Pops and boy, did we have fun!

We were able to spend some time with our cousins, which is always special. We also did a lot of swimming, at the pool and in the lake, fishing, riding the wave runner, and playing with Mommy's old toys. It was the perfect end to our two weeklong vacation. Bittersweet! Thank you Nannie and Pop Pop for having us!
