fleeting days.

John and I were itching to get back down to the beach for one last hoorah before the new baby arrives, but the Bryant's beach house is booked until the end of September! Luckily, Mama Jean and Grandaddy were gracious enough to let us stay at their condo in Seagrove last weekend, just the three of us, and we had such a great time.

We pulled into town Thursday afternoon, went to the grocery store, got settled in, and headed down the street to Seagrove Market for a casual dinner.

The next morning was a tad bit overcast so instead of getting an early start at the beach, we drove into Alys Beach to run around and play on the playground.

We decided to head down to the beach for a little bit before lunch to watch the storm roll in.

It rained on and off during Brooks' afternoon nap, but the sun came out just in time for more fun on the beach for the rest of the day.

We shopped around and ate dinner at Bud & Alley's that evening. A little incident with an adult beverage during a post supper diaper change prevented us from getting ice cream afterwards...

John and Brooks carried on their Saturday breakfast tradition the next morning, which melts my heart, but I was eager to see them and start the day because it was B-E-A-utiful out and I didn't want to stay cooped up in the condo any longer!

When they got home we suited up and headed straight for the beach!

We spent all morning and afternoon on the beach playing in the sand and splashing around in the ocean. We even swam in the pool, which Brooks loved. The swimming pool never disappoints. In fact, I think Brooks prefers it over the beach.

For our last dinner we went to George's, of course. We followed it up with ice cream in Rosemary. It was the perfect evening with my boys.

Sunday was Father's Day, so we hit up The Great Southern Cafe for a delicious breakfast before heading back to Birmingham.

I am so glad we were able to sneak away one last time for a relaxing weekend and savor our fleeting days with our precious boy. It's hard to believe we will have another little at our next beach trip this Fall! Only 8 more weeks...
