the mudroom.

The next room on our house tour is the mudroom. This room used to be a decent-sized bedroom complete with a closet, paneling, and french doors. We pushed back a wall expanding the kitchen, framed-up a new wall, dividing up the space into a laundry room (which used to exist in the dreary basement) and mudroom, added new sheetrock and a new rear-entry door. Here is the finished product:

Depending on how far we take our "Phase 2" addition, this room may turn back into a second den/living space. It kind of breaks my heart after all the thought and work we put into it, but we have do what is best for resale purposes. For now, I am loving it as a place to hang our coats and wipe our feet.
