last day of pdo.

Today was the last day of Brooks' first year of Parent's Day Out at Trinity. I'm not going to lie, I got a little teary eyed when I dropped him off this morning. It's so silly, but the directors and teachers have loved our Brooks so well and I am so thankful for them. Mrs. Jenna and Mrs. DeAnna were an answered prayer to this weary mama's heart. I couldn't have placed him in better hands this year. I am so grateful for the pouring of themselves and Jesus into his little heart! I so appreciate their patience, time, and energy.

We will surely miss the entire program next year, but are excited about our new adventures at Covenant.

We're ready for you, Summer!

I love being Brooks and Ann Bennett's mommy with my whole being. Motherhood is such a precious gift. It's messy and hard at times, yes. But, where there is breaking, there is also blessing. I am so thankful for the joy and laughter that they bring me—and for how they point me to the cross.

This Mother's Day, we started our day off at church, went to lunch at Tracy's (our Sunday favorite), played at the Tot Lot, napped, then went to Aunt Lea and Uncle Bradley's to celebrate Shug with dinner and dessert. It really was one of the best weekends to date.

One of my favorite moments was when Brooks gave me his gift that he made at school. He was so excited—it was just the sweetest!

My love tank is FULL.

John asked Brooks these questions at lunch…I just had to write them down for memory's sake.

How old is Mommy? 4 years old
How much does Mommy weigh? 1 pound
What is Mommy's favorite color? Dark blue
What is Mommy's favorite thing to eat? Chicken
What does Mommy always say? Please

What is Mommy's job? Work
Mommy makes you laugh when? Tickle
What do you and Mommy like to do together? Break stuff and play

Saturday, was "We Love Homewood Day" in our quaint little town. It's a fun celebration because, well, we really do love Homewood and this year, the kids were old enough to enjoy the rides and games at the Park Festival. At 10:00, we walked to Homewood Central Park and we played hard until almost 2:00! Brooks got an eagle tattoo on his leg, the little ones bounced around in the Circus Train inflatable, the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, and the Monster Truck inflatable, we rode the spinning buckets and swings, listened to the band, visited vendors, and ate hot dogs. We really had the best time and the weather was unbeatable!

After naps, we headed downtown for dinner and drove the buggy to the library for the "We Love Homewood Day" parade. The kids had so much fun!

We didn't make it down to the Street Dance in Edgewood following the parade, but we had a bag full of candy and that's really all that mattered to Brooks and AB. It was the perfect end to the perfect day!

Nothing cuter than this little priss wearing pink rain boots and laughing at ants.

Happy Tuesday!

Next up: our entry. To me, it says "home, sweet home." There are so many pieces in this little space that tell a story. The suitcase and military foot locker belonged to John's great uncle, John Robert Bryant. We inherited them, along with his coin collection. The suitcase houses boxes of film, a vintage camera, and old letters. The old milk jug was a freebie that John and I got from a house we looked at several years ago that was for sale. It was their trash, but our treasure. The gate is from John's parent's barn—with some engravings from John and a friend when they were younger. And lastly, the antique galvanized tub was a wedding gift from all of my best friend's moms; sweet women who have loved me so well.

These days, I'm all about finding places in our home to display furniture or knick knacks that bring me and mine joy...and purging the things that don't. My motto, as of late, is "less is more." Therefore, a yard sale is coming soon...

wedding date night.

We are so thankful for these sweet and selfless neighbors who love us like their own. We had the best time last night witnessing and celebrating the marriage of their daughter, Rachel. It was a fun date night for John and I. I almost forgot how to cut a rug on the dance floor. Almost.

This boy had the best time at the farm yesterday with his cousin William, Pops, and Uncle Dave. Three peas in a pod, right there!
