We are the land of the free, because of the brave.

This year we went to the lake for Memorial Day. My parents are busy packing up their house in Duluth so it ended up just being me, John, and the babies. We had a wonderful time, no surprise there. We spent most of our days at the Lake Club, on the boat, at the marina beach, or fishing. Lots of sweet memories were made as a little family of four, but we sure are looking forward to a return trip when Nanie and Pop Pop will be there! 

We are so blessed by those who gave their lives so that we could have relaxing weekends like this with our families, chasing the sun, full of love, full of laughter. But, that is not what this day is about. It's not about barbecues or bunting. It's about remembering those who paid the price for our freedom. And not only remembering and honoring them, but never forgetting. So, we won't forget. We will always remember.
