salty air and sunshine.

We had a beach trip planned with our friends, the Moorers, Owens, and Woods for the entire week of the 16th. Just a few days shy of our departure, we got word that the short-term rental ban in Florida was not going to be lifted, therefore cancelling our trip. John had already adjusted his schedule to take off work for a week, so he went into major operation "get us to the beach" mode. Luckily, a friend of a friend offered us his condo for five days so we jumped on the opportunity to spend a few days on the coast.

We did the usual: donuts, beach, pool. Repeat.

Wednesday's forecast looked a bit gloomy and rainy. The boys (plus Brandon and Gray) had a bay fishing trip planned, so Katie Beth, Charlie, and my other two little ones spent the day together. We grabbed donuts in Alys Beach and let the kiddos play on the playground before the rain put a dampen on our day. However, the rain never came and the sun decided to make an appearance!

So, while the boys fished, we beached!

We wrapped up our time with them with dinner at George's. We had the best day!

Naturally, we spent our last day going back and forth between the pool and the beach until the sun started to set. We weren't quite ready to get back into our normal routine, so off to the lake we went.

Quality time with my crew, salty sea air, and sunshine, were just what my tired and heavy heart needed.
