My love, my heart, you are six months old today. You make it so easy to love you. You are as sweet as sugar, as happy as a lark, and as cute as a button. You are just plain irresistible.
Month six was big as far as milestones go. You started sitting up on your own, without the help of your hands, on December 3rd. It's a new way for you to play and experience the world and I think that you are enjoying the different perspective. You have fallen over a couple of times, once when daddy wasn't paying attention, once when mommy wasn't paying attention, and hit your noggin pretty good. That might have been the only time we have truly heard you cry. You are the happiest baby, always smiling, rarely fussing. You don't like it when mommy leaves your side, but let's be honest, those times are rare.
You turned into a little piggy this month. On November 18th you tried sweet potatoes, carrots on the 20th. You especially loved them mixed with banana. On November 26th you ate pears. Daddy introduced mango and orange early on December 3rd because he accidentally gave you one of your brother and sister's pouch. You survived! On December 6th you tried raspberries. You loved your first taste of peas and spinach on the 7th. At this point I stopped keeping tabs, but you will eat anything and everything we feed you.
You absolutely adore your Sissy. She loves to show you attention and affection and you eat it right up. She will even let you pull her hair. Now that's true love!
You also LOVE the ABC song. ABC song = instant smile and giggles. It never fails! You also love to grab your feet. No toes in the mouth, yet. Only hands—all day, every day!
You haven't rolled over from your back to tummy yet, but you finally started to roll onto your sides. I have no doubt it won't be long until you turn into a little roly poly. You also developed two patches of eczema this month, one on your head and one on your chest. Your doctor thinks it is related to the cold, dry weather, but we shall see.
My favorite thing about you at this age is how you show affection. You wrap your arms around our necks and nuzzle into our shoulders. It is the absolute sweetest and makes me melt every.single.time. You are pure sunshine, Bug! Happy six months!
