farewell, summer.

Last weekend we bid farewell to Summer at one of our favorite places: the lake. It was a last minute decision to venture to Nannie and Pop Pop's, but I am sure glad we did. Unfortunately, John got stuck in mediation on Friday so I bravely made the trek with all three by myself. I wanted to be sure we had a full two days to spend having fun in the sun. It was a tough four hours, but we survived!

As soon as John got there Saturday morning, we headed to the Landing pool, per the kids' request. They love the waterslide there and both were brave enough to go down by themselves, without floaties!

After lunch we did some fishing and swimming in the lake.

We topped the day off with some porch sitting, burger grilling, and football watching. Fall was most definitely in the air!

The next morning we took it easy and went on a family boat ride. By the time we got back to the dock, our Aunt Kay Kay and cousins were there!

The kids had the best time playing together. We went to the Lake Club, spent hours swimming at the house, and went tubing.

We loved spend the day with everyone.

We packed up and headed home on Monday. We made a pitstop in Anniston at Mellow Mushroom so I could nurse and the kids could eat.

Sis rode home with Daddy...

And Brooks rode home with Mommy and Camp...

Looks about right!

We miss Nannie and Pop Pop so much already! Happy Labor Day!
