This past weekend we went to Auburn for the LSU game. We haven't been down there for a game in two years, so to say we were excited and really looking forward to it is an understatement! I think that we were most excited about the kids experiencing game day on the Plains and their first Auburn football game. We ended up finding 4 tickets to the game, so we were all in!

We drove down on Friday after Brooks and Ann Bennett got out of school. We spent some time visiting with the Branches, then went over to the Herrings for dinner. Spending time with my two favorite Ashleys and their families made my heart so happy!

On Saturday morning, John took Brooks down to his hunting property outside of Auburn to hang cameras and gear up for opening weekend. Ash and I had a lazy morning with AB and Coleman, then did some shopping...because I forgot to pack my d
ress! When Conner got home from work and my boys pulled up, we hopped in the truck and headed to the tailgate! The kiddos had SO much fun running around and playing, while we visited with old and new friends.

The game was a tad bit loud and overwhelming for the babies, but they still had a blast! Ann Bennett befriended the LSU fans sitting behind us and yelled "War Eagle" a time or twelve. Brooks sat on John's lap the whole time while cheering for our Tigers and eating cotton candy, hot dogs, and popcorn. We left during halftime and headed back to the Branches to put the kids down and finish the game in peace and quiet. And WOW, what a game! We ended up with a nail-biting victory!

We are already talking about coming back for the Arkansas game. I hope we can make it happen, because Brooks is already missing Coleman and I am already missing my best girls.

These two were pooped after such an eventful weekend.

WAR EAGLE!

I wouldn't mess with her, if I were you.

we didn't come this far.

On Saturday morning, I competed in my first Iron Tribe event. Tooootally out of my comfort zone, but my sweet friend Mary Drennan, who works out with me in the mornings, asked me to be her partner for the Tiny Kingdom Partner Competition and I couldn't say no! I am so thankful for her faith in me and encouragement. We were a great team and had a blast!

We competed against 3 other female teams from our gym and placed 3rd. It doesn't sound like much of an achievement, but several of the ladies were AT (Advanced Training) athletes. The fact that we were able to keep up with them was huge! I can't believe I am saying this, but I cannot wait for another event or competition. Mary and I joke, "Watch out #1! We didn't come this far to only come this far!"

We had quite an eventful Labor Day weekend. We were thrilled to be spending the long weekend at Nanie and Pop Pop's new house. They finally moved in and it is amazing and oh, so beautiful. It truly felt like we were on vacation. We pulled into town Friday evening. On Saturday, we spent the morning at the Lake Club, took a boat ride, and piddled around. That evening, we went to dinner at the Silver Moon. We did the same on Sunday, except our cousins came for the day! The littles had a blast together.

We bounced around the idea of staying the night on Monday, but the decision was made when Brooks and I got in a minor accident on the WaveRunner while Ann Bennett napped. We went for a long ride around the lake and when we reached the dock, Brooks said he wanted to do some "tricks" for Daddy who was on the dock watching. We did some sharp turns and circles, stirring up waves. The next thing I know, we hit a wave and Brooks' mouth is bleeding. I knew instantly, we needed to go to the emergency room. His top right tooth was shoved back and sideways. And there was blood, lots of blood. I handed him off to John who loaded him up while I parked the WaveRunner, then I hopped in the car with them and we jetted off to the hospital.

There wasn't anything that they could do, so we stayed the night and made an after hour trip to Dr. Lovell Tuesday evening. Did I mention that he got stung by a yellow jacket on his right eye a few days prior? Poor buddy

The x-ray showed that all four top teeth were shoved back a bit. Three of the four were chipped. So, he ended up pulling the top two right then and there and advised us to keep an eye on the other two.

That night the Tooth Fairy paid Brooks a visit. He awoke with a whopping $10.00 under his pillow! He felt like big stuff. It's going to take Mommy a while to get used to his new sweet smile. I am definitely counting my blessings that he is okay...it could have been worse!

I am so very proud of my brave boy! He has the best attitude, always, and handled everything so well. And goodness he looks cute. Cheers to being toothless for the next two to three years!
