potty trained.

Friday, August 7, 2015

A month ago, we decided to go all-in and potty train Brooks. He had been sitting on the potty here and there for several months, so I figured he was ready. After one day, ONE day, I threw in the towel. He was having accident after accident and would cry wail for his diaper. Clearly, he was not ready and, to be honest, neither was mommy. Fast forward five weeks...

Last weekend, Saturday, August 1st to be exact, John and I finally built up the courage to try again and this time…it worked! After two days, he was completely potty-trained and accident free. He will even wake up dry from his naps and in the morning! I was, and still am, shocked that round two was successful and so easy.

We are so proud of our Brooks for asking to wear his big boy underwear, picking out a clean pair each morning, from his drawer. We are so proud of our little buddy for telling mommy or daddy when he needs to sit on the potty and for the times that he goes, and even for the times that he just sits and tries, without success.

We have officially graduated to "big boy status." What happened to my baby?!

P.S. His little bum in those tighty whities kills me. Seeing him walk around the house in a t-shirt and underwear is way up there on the cute chart.

P.P.S. We may or may not have bribed him with a new scooter...
