spring break up the week.

Monday, April 2, 2018

Early Wednesday morning, we traveled south for Spring Break. We rolled into town around noon, so, naturally, we stopped at The Bay for lunch.

Check-in to our house in Watercolor wasn't until 4:00, so we changed into our swimsuits and went to the pool closest to where we were staying. It wasn't heated, but that didn't stop the kiddos from getting in!

After we got unpacked, settled in and bathed, we went into Seaside for dinner and Duckies.

The next morning, John took all of the kids to Alys Beach for donuts.

We then went on an adventure that landed us at the heated pool. The kids had so much fun swimming and making friends—that is, until a pop-up shower ran us out of there!

We decided to dry off, get dressed and grab some lunch in Seaside. John and I finally got the oysters and crab claws we had been dreaming about and the kids finally got to put their toes in the sand!

That evening, we met Lea, Bradley, and our nephews at Seagrove Market for dinner. We had the best time! In the morning, we packed up and headed to the beach, where Camp had his first taste of sand. He was eating it by the fistfuls!

John blew up Bug's portable pool, which kept him caged in. It also doubled as the perfect place for a beach nap!

Since it was our last night, we went to our favorite, George's. It did not disappoint—never does!

When we woke up the next morning, we packed up and headed to Destin to see our friends, Lauren and Phillip and their little ones, Grayson and Bennett. Grayson is 3 like Ann Bennett and sweet Bennett is only 6 weeks older than Camp! The kids had a good time swimming in their pool and we enjoyed playing catch up and spending time with them.

We wrapped up our trip around 2:30 and with hesitation, headed back home. Our trip was short, but sweet and we cannot wait to go back in June!
