new house glimpses: volume six.

One of my favorite rooms in the house is Brooks' bedroom. I hope to share more details soon, but for now, here's a peek:
trimmed.
Yesterday, we went to Vestavia Barber to get Brooks' haircut. While we were there, Little Priss decided that she wanted to get a haircut, too. I had been wanting to get her hair trimmed for about a month. It is getting so long in the back and looking a little scraggly. I had one of the hairdressers take a look and she thought cutting about a half an inch would help even things out a bit. Sis was in luck!
AB thought she was big stuff! She did great and got a sucker to prove it.
…and of course, Mama saved a lock of her hair. :)

On Friday night, John competed in the Iron Division (Advanced Training athletes, Black Division athletes, and coaches) at the Tribal Wars. This year it was held at the BJCC and there was an amazing turnout. Lea went with me to cheer on John and the Wod Squad (the same team he competed with last year). They didn't come in first again this year, but they did come in second and I couldn't be more proud of my man!
He absolutely killed it. Congrats John, Charlene, Mike, and Chris! See you again next year, Tribal Wars!

I don't usually post day-to-day happenings, but today was just too good. I took the littles to the zoo and we had the best time.
I love our little outings. They're the best…and so are these babies of mine. THE BEST!

celebrating two threes.
Tuesday, June 7, 2016
Last weekend we had such a fun time celebrating two of our favorite friends' birthdays. On Saturday, we celebrated Gray turning three at his pirate party. Brooks and Gray have such a sweet friendship—Brooks claims him as his "best" friend, so he was really looking forward to his party. Both he and Ann Bennett enjoyed every bit of his special day!

Happy 3rd Birthday, Gray!
On Sunday, we celebrated Christopher turning three at his petting zoo party. It was such a fun afternoon feeding farm animals and playing with our friends!

memorial day.
Friday, June 3, 2016
Memorial Day was surely memorable this year. We had not seen my parents since Easter, so we were all eager for some time with Nanie and Pop Pop! So much so, we spent an entire week at the lake.
I loaded up the kiddos on Tuesday morning an we made the 3 1/2 hour trek to Greensboro. When we got there we skipped naps and went straight to the Lake Club pool. For the next six days, if we weren't at the swimming pool, we were at the beach digging in the sand and throwing rocks.
We did a lot of coloring...
…and eating. The kids ate way too many sweets and treats, if you ask me. But, that's what grandparents are for, right?!
On Thursday morning, Nanie took us to Homegrown at Lickskillet Farm to pick blueberries. Brooks and Ann Bennett had a blast! They especially loved the piglets and goats.
Late Friday afternoon we went to a Summer Kick-Off party at The Landing. The kids had fun running and jumping around for an hour, topped off with tattoos.
But, the highlight of their night was Daddy's arrival, popsicles, and a long boat ride!
On Saturday morning, we took Brooks and Ann Bennett to the pond for some fishing tournament fun.
Brooks caught one, but I think playing with the "wormies" was more up his alley.
Saturday night, my parents had a wedding in Bulkhead to attend, so John and I took the babies to Silver Moon for dinner. It never disappoints!
On Sunday, the rest of my family joined us. Brooks and AB were in cousin heaven!
They only stayed for the day, so you can imagine the disappointment when we said our goodbyes. Ann Bennett was ready to climb in the car with them and drive away!
On Monday, we spent the entire day at the Lake Club pool…again. Now that Daddy was here, Brooks and AB had someone to take them down the slide (the water was freezing). I'm pretty sure Ann Bennett would have gone down by herself if we let her!
We all headed back on Tuesday. If I had given the kids the option, they would have stayed for another week! It's always hard saying goodbye, but we can't wait to go back this summer—and finally get to stay in Nanie and Pop Pop's NEW house! YAY! Thanks, Mom and Dad, for having us! XO.
