My littlest is three whole months old and is as sweet as sugar with a side of spice.
Our "chatty Cathy" found her voice this month and our conversations are the best, especially after her feedings or before bed. Her dainty goos melt me. Hello, puddle formerly known as my heart!
On October 28th, after I put her back down after her morning bottle, I could hear her in the cradle "talking" away. She was so proud of herself squealing with passion and delight. She also uses those squeals to let us know when we aren't paying her enough attention. The minute we look at her she gives us the biggest smile. Ann Bennett craves attention and with a face like hers, it's easy to give.
In addition to her voice, she also found her hands this month. They are either clasped sweetly or in her mouth. She sucks on them so hard that Brooks thinks the noise is coming from her bottom; "Baby sister pooted!" Not quite, buddy, but she does that often too…
On October 25th, AB started wearing size 2 diapers. She is a hefty bit with rolls and cheeks for days. I give her a tubby every single night because of her chins. Bless her chunky heart.
On October 27th, I decided that it was time to sleep train her, one step at a time. The first step being "goodbye Rock 'n Play, hello cradle." I also decided that it was time to take all naps in the crib, which Ann Bennett despised. After a few days of the cry-it-out method, she was napping like a champ. Two days shy of three months, on November the 15th, she slept in the crib at night for the first time and did surprisingly well! We haven't turned back since! She sleeps, on average, 10 hours night, drinks a bottle, then goes back down for two to three more hours.
Big things happened this month as far as development goes. On October 29th she rolled over from her tummy to her back (to her left). She now consistently rolls over every time that she is on her tummy, which isn't often. Whoopsie. Again, second child problems…
The only other change this month is that hair! Or lack thereof. Baby girl's beautiful brown locks are continuing to fall out and the bald spot on the back of her head is getting bigger. But, it's okay sweet pea, you are still beautiful in mama's eyes. Forehead and all, Annie B.
Mama is incredibly smitten with you, my love. You brighten up my dark days and warm the cold ones. God is so good! Happy three months, AB baby!
