spring breakin'.

Two words: Spring Break. Can I get an amen?!

We had the best week at the beach with the Owens family this year. It was fun, it was refreshing, and it was oh, so good for the soul.

We basically went to the beach every morning, the pool every afternoon, napped, then went out to dinner *almost* every night.

Night 2: Dinner at Red Bar

Night 3: Dinner at George's

This night was especially amazing because John and I were celebrating our six year anniversary. Each year gets better and sweeter. I am one lucky lady.

Night 4: Dinner and Pinocchio in Seaside

Brandon had to leave on Tuesday and Katie Beth opted to leave with the kids Wednesday afternoon, so on Tuesday, we played hard at the pool and picked up dinner at Bayou Bill's. We celebrated Gray and Charlie's last night with a golf cart ride to feed the fish!

Night 6: Dinner at the Back Porch

We ended our trip with this beautiful sunset. God is quite the artist! WOW.

It was the best week and I am especially thankful that John was able to stay with us the entire week. The kids and I were definitely spoiled. Today, it is back to reality!

We can't wait to come back at the end of April for one last trip before Number Three arrives!

32.

Thursday, March 23, 2017

I turned 32 today and felt so much love from my sweet friends and family. Meredith and Katie Beth took the kids and I to lunch at SoHo Social this afternoon. And then we enjoyed the beautiful sunshine with our neighbors until the sun went down.

Love these boys and their wild hearts. They were so filthy we had to strip them down and hose them off.

Today was a good day.

I sure love you, Wooksie.

girls getaway to the plains.

Monday, March 20, 2017

This past weekend, my girls and I got away for a couple of nights in Auburn…where it all started for us! I cannot believe that I met Margot, Katie Beth, and Jessica almost FOURTEEN years ago. A lot has changed since Bid Day, especially the city we hold so near and dear, but one thing's for sure—our friendships remain the same and I am so grateful for them.

After checking in to the hotel Friday night, we ate dinner at Ariccia Italian Trattoria & Bar. It did not disappoint! Full and tired, we spent the rest of the evening gabbing in our hotel room. We didn't go to bed until midnight!

The next morning we had a late breakfast at the hotel and spent the rest of the morning shopping and sight-seeing. We grabbed lunch with Felder at Hamilton's then got pedicures at the nail salon.

We stopped by the Phi Mu dorms in hopes to check out the chapter room, but it was a ghost town since most students were still out of town on Spring Break. Bummer!

Saturday night we ate the most delicious meal at Acre. WOW, it was amazing and our friend and Acre owner, David Bancroft, treated us like royalty, bringing out one-of-a-kind appetizers and dessert on the house. We left fat and HAPPY.

Our last morning on the Plains was a good one. We ate brunch at The Depot, strolled around Samford, and drove by Knapp Hall before heading home to our husbands and babies.

It was the perfect weekend and I am so thankful for the refreshing time away. Until next year!

This afternoon, Ann Bennett performed in her Spring Program. Our little lady bug did so well, singing and dancing her heart out.

We had cookies and lemonade with her afterwards and got to see all of her beautiful artwork hanging in the gallery. Ann Bennett, you shine so bright and we are extremely proud of you!

pots of gold.

I am head over heels for my pots of gold!

Brooks and Ann Bennett, I am so LUCKY to call you mine!

weekend with nanie and pop pop.

Tuesday, March 14, 2017

This past weekend we drove to Reynold's to spend some time with Nanie and Pop Pop. The kids and I left Thursday morning and John joined us Friday night. The weather was perfect. On Friday, it was warm enough to play at the beach. My crazy kiddos were brave enough to get in the lake. The cold water and breeze didn't phase them one bit!

Mom and I drove to Atlanta on Saturday to go Scott's again. She needed to pick up her watch and find a piece of art for her entry and I needed to find a rug and a lamp for the nursery. We were both successful! It was a fun day and I am thankful for that one-on-one time with my mama.

Sunday before we left, Ann Bennett got a manicure from Nanie. She also put some of her lipstick on Miss Priss and she thought that she was the cat's meow.

It's always hard to say goodbye, AB surely did not want to leave, but we cannot wait to spend a week (or two) with them once Number Three arrives!
