into the woods.

Sunday, May 10, 2020

Into the woods we go, again! The last time was to celebrate our anniversary, this time it was to celebrate Mother's Day!

John's parent's grabbed the kids on Saturday to spend the night so I had the entire day to rest. John took me shopping, we wandered around Leaf & Petal, and capped off the day with to-go from Gianmarco's and a movie. It really was the best day. But, I couldn't wait to see my babies and spend the day with them on Sunday.

These days are the best days and I am so thankful to be their mama.

motherhood.

Motherhood changes you. It molds you. It challenges you, working your body and heart to the bone. Motherhood becomes you, filling the empty parts of yourself that you didn't even know existed. It consumes your entire being.

Motherhood is my greatest calling. And these three are my greatest gifts.

My favorite day of Covenant kindergarten: the Sweetheart Tea! And this year, I got to be Ann Bennett's guest of honor. I had the best time with my baby girl.

What a special morning!

I had so much fun at the zoo today with my babies!

Love this crew of mine!

self-timer.

Thursday, February 7, 2019

Sometimes, you gotta set the self-timer and get in front of the lens with your babies.

Well, with two of them. I sure do wish my big buddy wasn't at school when we took these.

Ann Bennett had a lot of fun hitting the shutter on the camera, which moved it, losing focus and a perfectly lined up frame, but I couldn't love these, and her budding heart for photography, more.

These shots definitely encourage me to set up the self-timer more often, especially when the light is that good!

This morning, I took Brooks and Ann Bennett's to Disney on Ice presents Frozen.

Tickets: $177, Sword: $25.00, Wand: $25.00, Dippin' Dots: $20.00…

A fun day date with my babies: priceless.

I love this fall weather...

…but, I especially love my girl.

John and I surprised Brooks and Ann Bennett with a special date at the Alabama Theatre to see The Muppets Christmas Carol.

They ate cookies, popcorn, and sipped on hot chocolate. We had so much fun singing carols and watching the movie. I have no doubt we will make this an annual tradition!

Yesterday, I had a very special date with my Annie girl: her very first ballet! We went to see Alabama Ballet's performance of Balanchine's The Nutcracker at Samford's Wright Center. We put on our fancy dresses, curled our hair, and put on lipstick then headed to the theater.

She was a bit overwhelmed and got a bit restless at one point, but overall loved it. Especially the Sugar Plum Fairy!

It truly was a magical day that I will cherish always. I had the best time with my best girl and cannot wait to make this a yearly tradition!

field trip to the farm.

Wednesday, October 4, 2017

This year was Ann Bennett's turn to go to Old Baker Farm with her fellow classmates and she was so excited. I was especially excited to have a special day with just my girl. This morning, we left Camp with Daddy, dropped Brooks off at school, and headed to Harpersville. We did a lot of fun things on the farm: pet the calfs, took a hayride to the pumpkin patch where we picked out pumpkins, had a picnic, and visited with the barn animals. Of all the activities, Annie said that she liked the hayride the most.

We held hands, we talked, and we laughed. The fresh farm air, the sunshine, and quality time with my baby girl were soul refreshing. It's officially Fall, y'all!
