grandparent's day.

Sunday, September 30, 2018

Nannie and Pop Pop came into town Wednesday afternoon so they could go to school with Brooks on Thursday to celebrate Grandparent's Day. What a lucky boy to have all four grandparents in attendance!

It was a sweet gathering and we had a sweet visit with Nannie and Pop Pop. We were sad to see them leave yesterday!

I wish I could come up with a funny joke about a chicken and a unicorn...

But, I can't.

no-nap.

No-nap, pace-loving babe.

Was up three times last night. It's a good thing he's cute!

zzzz's.

Saturday, September 22, 2018

Sissy and Brooks went to the farm with Pops and Sam today, so Daddy caught himself some zzzz's this afternoon. This never happens so it had to be documented!

 Meanwhile...

healthy.

This morning I took Campbell to his 15 month well check-up. He was a little unsure at first, but quickly warmed up to Dr. McAfee…while sitting on my lap. 😏

Little man weighs 24 pounds, 10 ounces (76th percentile) and is 31 1/4 inches long (52nd percentile). His noggin' is 48 centimeters (80th percentile). He was not a fan of his vaccinations, but is a healthy, thriving boy and we are so thankful!

Last weekend we went to Auburn to visit with old friends and go to the Auburn v. LSU game. On Friday night, we grilled out with the Branches and the Herrings. The kids had so much fun playing together and catching up and spending time with my girls was so good for my heart.

On Saturday, we tailgated the day away! We got to campus around 10:00. A sitter came around 12:30 to take Camp and Lillie Kate home. After tailgating some more, we went into the game to watch our Tigers play!

The kids only lasted until the 3rd quarter and I don't blame them—it was HOT! So, we headed back to the tailgate for a while then called it a day and headed back to Ashley and Conner's house.

Despite a loss, we still had the best weekend on the Plains with some of our favorite people. I'm so thankful for this weekend with our crew! War Eagle!

picture day.

Today was picture day and I snapped this picture of Ann Bennett before school.

It's safe to say, our Annie girl is growing up. 😢

fall ballin'.

Sunday, September 9, 2018

This afternoon, Brooks had his first fall baseball practice. We lucked up this season and are on Coach Blake's team again. It's going to be a great season—coach pitch!

mommy kisses.

Camp and me?

We kinda love each other.

tiny dancer.

Thursday, September 6, 2018

Our tiny dancer started ballet at Dawson and it is just the sweetest program with the sweetest teacher, Mrs. Susie. All the girls have to wear pink leotards and tights each week and it is just about the cutest thing that I have ever seen. I had to snap some pictures from today's class.

Precious ballerinas!

messy mop.

Wednesday, September 5, 2018

Brooks put my sunglasses on and asked me to take his picture seven times yesterday evening, posing differently each time. This one stopped me in my tracks. That messy mop on his head, dirty t-shirt, and that sweet, soft grin.

I just love him so much.

not laboring on labor day.

Shug and Pops truly love us so well. They are always doing and giving and serving. For Labor Day weekend they took us all to the beach for the holiday weekend. We stayed in Seagrove, on the lake with a view of the ocean and it was kid-heaven! The house had a bunk room, a ping pong table, cornhole, bicycles, crab traps, a sandbox, and a dock to fish off of. It truly was spectacular and a perfect fit for the six cousins.

We did the usual every day—bike and golf cart rides, beach time, fishing, and eating. And eating some more! On the second night there, we celebrated our precious nephew Sam's 5th birthday.

We had great weather despite the threat of a hurricane. Most of all, we had a great time enjoying each other's company. These trips are good for the soul. Thank you, Shug and Pops for another amazing beach vacation!
