Happy Father's Day to the best daddy, our daddy.

We love you so much!

baseball for life.

Birmingham hosts the SEC baseball tournament each year and this year John thought it would be fun to take Brooks...and he was right! They had the best time together watching Auburn play.

I love that they got to spend some one-on-one time doing something they both love. Baseball for life!

serve day 2018.

Sunday, July 15, 2018

Yesterday was Serve Day 2018. It's a day to love God, love people, and SERVE! There were projects all over the state and John, Brooks, and Pops got to be a part of one, where they helped build a wall and steps on a piece of neglected property for a nonprofit organization.

It's safe to say Brooks dug and served his little heart out. I am one proud mama! I'm so thankful that our church teaches us the importance of showing the love of Jesus to our city in a practical way and encourages us to teach this principal to our children at a young age. Hopefully next year our entire family can serve together!

John, you are good to your bones. You are warm and you are kind. You lead and love with a servant heart. You are generous. You are never proud or boastful. You fiercely love God and we fiercely love you.

Happy Father's Day.

Today, I got to celebrate Father's Day with my sweet daddy. It was such a treat!

I am so thankful for these men. To know them is to love them and we all love them big!

They did it! The RiverDogs won the 5U championship! For two days in a row, these guys played their little hearts out in two nail-biting games! I am so proud of Brooks for giving it his all this season. He improved so much in just three short months.

We are all sad the season is over. We made some sweet new friends and fun was had on and off the field. I asked Brooks the other day what sport he wanted to play now that baseball is over and he answered with tennis. So…tennis here we come?!

hunting with daddy.

Friday, February 9, 2018

Daddy picked up Brooks early from school on Wednesday to take him hunting at Mr. Michael's for a couple of days. They didn't kill any deer, but they did shoot a hog. He had so much fun, he didn't want to come home Thursday evening!

As much as I would have loved for them to stay and shoot a monster buck, he needed to go to school today. However, last night, both Brooks and Daddy developed a high fever, so they are both home with me and Camp today! Praying the rest of the family stays well!

christmas at the alabama theatre.

John and I surprised Brooks and Ann Bennett with a special date at the Alabama Theatre to see The Muppets Christmas Carol.

They ate cookies, popcorn, and sipped on hot chocolate. We had so much fun singing carols and watching the movie. I have no doubt we will make this an annual tradition!

On Saturday, John took Brooks to his first baseball game. The two of them love to play ball in the backyard, Brooks is currently obsessed with his baseball shirts, and they've been known to watch The Sandlot on repeat. This was a special treat for our little guy and the day could not have been more perfect to watch Samford play Wofford at their home stadium.

Before they left for the game, Brooks told me that he was going to get three things at the ballpark: chewing gum, a hot dog, and a Sprite, in that order. He cracks me up!

John said that he had a lot of fun (despite his face in the picture). I see many more baseball games in our future!
